#believeinsherlock hits Malaysia!
Today, I did my part (with the help of my loyal cousin) for the #BelieveInSherlock / #MoriartyWasReal movement. We managed to post up 30 of these flyers. In case anyone’s wondering, this is in Bandar Baru Bangi Malaysia. Sherlock BBC is very much global ;)
Yesterday’s mission was a success! I, bigbookofeverything, tylgrey, and a faction of our college’s Doctor Who Club put up Believe in Sherlock and Moriarty was Real posters around campus, but this was our main focus. This is Pearlstone Atrium, home to the post office, mailboxes, bookstore, gatherings, and a dining hall. Almost every student goes through or past here. So we decided to plaster every available surface we could (along with the innocent white board below) with Believe in Sherlock Posters. Because the message must get out.
Sycophantic, they call us. Laboring under a paranoid delusion.
THE TRIAL OF THE CENTURY WAS FAKED, they say.
These are the words of the “Brook is Innocent” movement.
Well, I don’t know where they get off masquerading as the harbingers of truth, when I’ll bet not a single one of them could prove just how that trial was faked. I’m pretty sure that they allow film cameras in English courtrooms. Or hey, if that’s not enough, read a newspaper since you seem to put so much stock in them. Explain to me how Sherlock Holmes was able to rig a judge AND a jury and of course, Jim Moriarty himself.
(That’s right, Brookheads. I’ll call him by his name. You mad?)
Let that so-called reporter who wrote that so-called “expose” on Sherlock Holmes interview that judge, that jury, the people in the courtroom, the officers on duty. I’ll bet she won’t. Just like I’ll bet the people who buy into the DELUSION (see what I did there?) will just handwave them away, saying “oh, Sherlock just paid them all off. They’re all in on it.” They can’t prove shit.
I believe in Sherlock Holmes. No matter what crude names and petty ad hominem attacks the opposition throws at me.
an incomplete playlist for those involved in the movement defending our beloved consulting detective, Sherlock Holmes, and the equally beloved hero John Watson.
01. Marching On || OneRepublic
There’s so many wars we fight
there’s so many things we’re not
but with what we have
I promise you that
we’re marching on
02. If Words Were Bullets || The Daylights
I’ll be waiting
for something remarkable
I’ll keep listening
oh with my ear to the wall
Can you help me?
‘Cause I, I am a dangerous thing
If words were bullets
In a gun
I probably would have killed someone
And I’d just be another famous outlaw
03. My Side of the Story || Hodges
This is my side of the story
only my side of the story
and nobody cares
no one will here
my side of the story
04. Sinnerman || Nina Simone
Where’s “Richard Brooks” gonna go once we’ve exposed the truth?
05. Seven Nation Army || The White Stripes
I’m gonna fight ‘em all
A nation army couldn’t hold me back
They’re gonna rip it off
Taking their time right behind my back
And I’m talking to myself at night
Because I can’t forget
Back and forth through my mind
Behind a cigarette
And the message coming from my eyes
Says leave it alone
Don’t want to hear about it
Every single one’s got a story to tell
Everyone knows about it
From the Queen of England to the hounds of hell
